This county park is close I-ten so you lot can definitely hear traffic. But, we turn on white noise at nighttime, and so that doesn't carp u.s.. The park is huge. At that place were a lot of families, walkers, runners here when we arrived at almost 3 PM, merely they were pretty much gone by 5:30. We had the whole place to ourselves. Our dogs LOVED information technology. Th... more

Looking to stop for the night. Not far of the interstate. Saw several truckstops just off the interstate, but wanted to endeavour this. Got here around half-dozen pm (traffic delays) on a Tuesday, called the number and left a message. No call back ii hours afterwards when I write this review. RV spot is on the interstate side of the 1st ball field you get to. Look for the sign posted in the images. We got there merely as a peewee t-ball team got there to practice. And so squeamish amusement for usa :-) Site is long and gravel, not very level, but can make information technology work for a night. There are likewise tent sites on the other side of the brawl field further from the interstate. Playground, waking trails, picnic tables. Definitely road dissonance, but much nicer than a truck stop.

I pulled in around first week of March. It was after 5:00 and the part was airtight. So I collection in, saw a spot for rv only, pulled in and parked.
About x minutes afterwards a maintenance man pulled up and made sure I was aware that they airtight the gates at seven . He was a very welcoming and informative gentleman.
Winter hours October 01 to February 28 they close the gate at five:00 and your not allowed entry. Summer hours March 01 thru Sept they shut the gate at 7:00.
Its probably best if you chosen and reserve a spot, since at that place is simply 3 spots available for rv and seven spots for tent.
Overnice and quite except for freeway noise, just was non all that bad. Very clean. I would stay overnight again. Of course no hookups.

I contacted the park role several days in accelerate, so inverse my inflow engagement a few days later on. My initial call was returned correct away simply as the week progressed and the COVID-19 issues increased, the office was closed. I showed up late Fri afternoon and establish the park open but the office closed. I checked the park map and found the designated camping surface area. This area is actually walk-in primitive tent camping in the trees on the far due north side of the park. I wasn't certain where to go just found a truck camper in RV Site #ii (back-in) on the park road close to the interstate (south of the baseball game diamond). They said they had simply showed up and the groundkeeper showed them the spot. I institute the same groundkeeper who was out changing trash can liners. He pointed me to ii unlike parking areas, the 2nd being adjacent to the Halliburton Pavillion. Information technology was level and pull-through simply but a parking lot - information technology worked fine. All the signs say the park closes at 7PM but the groundskeeper said they stay open if people are still in the park. Besides, the gate isn't locked, merely closed with a chain wrapped around (I've seen that trick earlier!). Oh, and RV Site #2 is the just designated RV parking spot. The groundskeeper said, "I'm not certain why it says #2 because in that location isn't a #1". All these pocket-sized issues bated, it is a lovely park with trails and huge lawns, playground, volleyball, baseball, horseshoes, bathrooms, a swimming, and picnic areas. It would be tremendous if they gear up a small-scale department actually designated for RV parking as the park is delightful and would less confusing for overnighters. There is some interstate noise as might be expected.

Stayed hither vi Jan 2020. You're supposed to register but the office was closed and then I stayed without getting a allow. It was very quiet except for the noise that I was making working on cutting metal for my roof rack. Park personnel did not complain, and they were quite friendly to talk with. They advised that side by side time I should stay at the dorsum of the park, every bit that is the overnight camping area (not where I had parked.) I checked out that area and it is rather "moist".
All in all, a very prissy park, free, without civilities. Highly recommend and I would stay here again.

A nice place to stay for a couple nights to get off the road. Staff very dainty and helpful. Metropolis of Vidor on Main Street has most everything you'll need gas, ace, Walmart, market place, fast food and other places to consume. The gate is closed at 5 pm but if staying we still have in/out access. Call the number if your coming in, they only asked for a proper name and number. No other campers the two nights I stayed. Enjoyable
Only noise you get is off the 10
